Apple made tech headlines last year when it announced the first Mac computers powered by in-house M1 silicon. The company recently launched new computers powered by the M1 Max and M1 Pro chipsets, but the first-generation Macbook Air M1 is still worth a look. And thankfully, you can get it for a cheaper price thanks to Black Friday.
Yes, the Macbook Air M1 is available on Amazon right now for $849.99, which is $149 off the standard price. For what it’s worth, this is for the model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD, while the 512GB option will still set you back $1,099.99.

Apple’s thinnest, lightest notebook, completely transformed by the new Apple M1 chip.
In case you need a refresher, the Macbook Air M1 delivers a big power and efficiency boost over the previous Intel-equipped models. In the case of the latter, Apple says you can expect up to 18 hours of juice. Otherwise, you’re also getting a 13.3-inch display, a fanless design, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and a Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
We liked this laptop in our Macbook Air M1 review, but our own Gary Sims lamented the low-resolution webcam and the lack of ports. Nevertheless, you can do far worse than this if you want a powerful, long-lasting laptop.
